Redefining what gravel can be. The new RLT 9 RDO.
Seriously. Who doesn’t like a diversion? Something different. A different perspective. A change of pace. We designed the new RLT 9 RDO to encourage diversion.
It’s hard to know where to start with this versatile beauty. The sleek, eye-catching design? The thoughtful benefits of NMF internal cable guide routing? The flat mount disk brakes?
We know those are important, but when it all comes down to it, none of those features matters if the ride quality blows. So, when we set about designing the RLT 9 RDO we talked to riders. They wanted a bike that could go the distance but perform when pushed. They wanted a bike that was stiff yet compliant. A bike that transferred power instantly but absorbed rough terrain. And, a bike that wouldn’t weigh them down but be durable.
So, that’s what we sat down at the drawing board to do and that’s what you see here. A bike we’re proud to add to the RDO line of bikes. A bike with mountain biking roots that tips its hat to the AIR 9 RDO. A bike so fast and fun and comfortably designed that it can be ridden competitively, on multi-day adventures and everywhere in between. This bike just works. In fact, we’re still scratching our heads wondering how we pulled it off.
Take a close look at the frame - the heartbeat of the new RLT 9 RDO. It’s a frame that wants to be pushed and pushed hard. Our Carbon Compaction process makes this frame 10% lighter without being flexy in the wrong places. It delivers performance and comfort all day long. And, we always design our bikes to meet rigorous mountain bike industry standards for strength. (Road bike standards are less stringent.)
Keeping ride quality in mind, we went to great lengths to design the frame junction where the stout seat tube, the bridgeless seatstays and the wafer-thin top tube come together. This design delivers just enough flex to keep the rider comfortable all day long without unnecessary weight. But don’t worry about this bike flexing in the wrong places. The massive down tube and chainstays keep power transfer right where you need it to be.
Taking advantage of new technology, we included a window under the bottom bracket which makes cable/wire installation easy and allows you the ability to easily service components like Shimano’s Di2 system. The NMF cable guide routing means you feed the cable housing in one end and it comes out the other end. No More Fishing. The full carbon sleeved bottom bracket shell can be used with a PF30 press-fit bottom bracket or, if you pine for a simpler life and would like to go singlespeed, the BioCentric II eccentric bottom bracket can handle the duty. (BioCentric sold separately.)
